Yesteryear music promoter Joseph Kufandiko has died.

Kufandiko passed away on Sunday evening due to health complications that arose after he was hit by a car last week.

His nephew and family spokesperson, Obert Murape confirmed his passing.

“We are saddened to inform you that our father, uncle, and Apostle Joseph ‘José’ Kufandiko has passed away. He was hit by a car last week and spent some time in the hospital. The injuries from that accident triggered some health complications that led to his death. We are now waiting for the post-mortem to determine the exact cause of his death,” Murape said.

The Shamva-based promoter was well known among many musicians during his time as an active promoter and brought numerous artists to the mining town of Shamva before he started his own ministry as an apostle.

Musician First Farai expressed his shock at the passing of Kufandiko, with whom he had worked for a long time.

“I knew José Kufandiko a long time ago, and he was like a brother to me. My connection to Shamva is because of Kufandiko, who brought me to perform there. Even when he left the music industry to start his ministry, we kept in touch and spoke almost every week. I am shocked,” h
