Musical duo Murumba Pitch split up

Murumba Pitch, which originated in Limpopo, was established in 2012 by Venda music producer and rapper Chifo Charge who then handed over the reins to its current leader, Emmanuel Mathye, a year later.

Duo Emmanuel Mathye and Innocent “Maeywon” Mongolo have made their mark in the amapiano genre, with songs such as Wena Dali, Hamba Juba, Uyeke to name a few.

News of Murumba Pitch’s separation sent shock waves across social media.

A statement from Murumba Pitch read: “It is with great sadness to announce that after a meeting held on March 6 (Innocent and Emmanuel) reached a mutual decision to terminate their partnership and contractual relationship with immediate effect. This decision marks a new chapter and both parties are respectively committed to move forward independently focusing on new opportunities and future endeavours. Both parties have agreed that a formal media statement would be released to inform the public of this development. Additionally, the parties will be working together to ensure a fair and amicable settlement of the division of business interests in the Murumba Pitch Brand. We thank you for your understanding and expect your co-operation during this transition”. — TshisaLive
