AFRO-BEAT musician, Leo Magozz, has revealed that his journey was tough and full of sacrifices.
He said the struggle, from being an upcoming artist to become a hit-maker, was quite a tough struggle.
“It was never easy to be where I am today. It was a struggle, I had to make some sacrifices to dedicate myself to this craft, sleepless nights. I thank God who gave me strength to wait for the right time,” he said.
Asked when the Fire Emojis hit-maker found out he had a talent in singing, he said: “I have always been convinced that I will make it and Fire Emoji is a clear testimony to that.
“I was actually born a musician,” said Magozz.
In addition to all the struggles Magozz encountered, he also faced numerous challenges. “Just the usual, African parents being African parents. That time I didn’t get approval from my family to pursue my career because they believed college is the only gateway to a successful life.
“As time proceeded, I didn’t convince them but God convinced them, if it’s meant to be, trust me, it will be without forcing,” he added.
Before releasing Fire Emojis, the versatile artist disclosed that he did a number of tracks which did not do well.
“I did a lot of singles back then but I guess proper marketing wasn’t done.
“The other thing might have been the wrong release dates we set for the collaborations.”
To date, Leo Magozz has released 12 songs – five singles and a seven-track EP.
