Musicians, dancers ready for Dandaro festival

All is set for the inaugural Braai festival scheduled for tomorrow at Country Club in Newlands dubbed Dandaro Place in Harare running under the theme “Celebrating Zimbabwe Lifestyle Brands”. The event which is a concept of paDandaro Tourism Brand wholly owned by Odnet Africa System will see some of the top local musicians performing at the event. Some of the musicians lined up include Edith WeUtonga, Tehn Diamond, Jah Prayzah, Roki, Taurai Mandebvu, Nesto, Willis Wataffi, Trevor Dongo, Pah Chihera and Selmor Mtukudzi among others while top disc jockeys who include Jason Le Roux, SK, Kimble Rogers,Zi Mix Masters, Zi- Squad, Sokostina and Zi Judgement Yard, Dj Slick Vic, Dj Cavassy will be on the turntables.

High Defination, TMCT, and Flip Floppers are some of the dancers who will showcase their talent at the event which will start 10am and run until Sunday morning. In an interview with this reporter, festival organiser, Pedzai Urimbo said all was in place for the festival .

“The concept of hosting such event was designed and geared for value addition to the country’s lifestyle and tourism sector and the effective contribution to aggressive guerrilla marketing efforts for local, regional and international recognition as a prime tourist destination,” he said.

Urimbo said patrons will also be treated to some games apart from music. “We also have sky diving, burn outs, touch rubbing, five aside soccer, trampoline, bungee jumping, and go-kartin among others.”

He said the event’s business model is to create a platform for direct interaction between the tourism players and their target market by ensuring there is increased marketability of the specific services and products.

“We believe, through the Braai Festival, we can unite, broadcast and showcase the best of Zimbabwe’s lifestyle and brands to Zimbabwe and the rest of the world, as well as celebrate the rich diversity of culture herein.” said Urimbo.
