“Instead of going to HICC I prefer going to Mbare Kings where I will have my favourite taste of Zimdancehall. I know that we will not be overcrowded as other fans will be attending other gigs of their choice.”

Music lovers in Harare are spoilt for choice as entertainers have lined up concurrent end-of-year gigs.

Jah Prayzah, Winky D and others are raring to “Fill up HICC,” Alick Macheso will be performing at Ice and Fire Pamuzinda, Sulu and Bev date GMB Sports Club, Alexio plays at Club Las Vegas, while Zimdancehall Mbare Kings storm Mbare Netball Complex, and Street Party performs at Longcheng.

All these events are scheduled for the New Year’s Eve, giving fans a variety of options.

“Having so many artistes performing on the same night is good because as fans we will not be crowded in one venue,” said one fan.

A dancehall fan identified as David said he was Mbare-bound.

“Instead of going to HICC I prefer going to Mbare Kings where I will have my favourite taste of Zimdancehall. I know that we will not be overcrowded as other fans will be attending other gigs of their choice,” he said.

Simbarashe Mdutshwa from Kuwadzana said he had not yet settled on a destination. “It would have been better if they used the same venue like the National Sports Stadium where many fans can be accommodated. I would have loved to have all genres under one roof,” he said.

“I travelled all the way from Gweru to end my year here in Harare and I think I’m going to have a nice time as I move from one show to another since there are so many to attend to,” said one Gerald Zambuko.

Besides shows, there will also be street parties in different suburbs of Harare.
