The Zimbabwe Warriors will line up in a bold, attack-minded 4-3-3 formation for their decisive Africa Cup of Nations Group B clash against South Africa this evening, despite being without the experienced duo Knowledge Musona and Teenage Hadebe.

Coach Marian “Mario” Marinica has opted for an outright offensive approach in a must-win encounter, signalling Zimbabwe’s intent to take the game to Bafana Bafana and secure qualification to the next round.

Washington Arubi retains his place between the posts, shielded by a back four comprising Munashe Garananga, Gerald Takwara, Brendan Galloway and Divine Lunga.

In midfield, the Warriors will rely on a blend of steel and creativity, with Marvelous Nakamba anchoring the side alongside Jonah Fabisch, while Bill Antonio is expected to provide drive and attacking thrust from deeper positions.

The attacking trio of Daniel Msendami, Prince Dube and Tawanda Maswanhise will spearhead Zimbabwe’s quest for goals, with pace, movement and directness key weapons against a South African side that also needs a win to progress.

However, the Warriors will have to do without former Kaizer Chiefs pair Musona and Hadebe, both ruled out through injury. Their absence deprives Zimbabwe of leadership and big-match experience, but camp insiders insist this should not derail the team’s ambitions.

“This is tournament football,” a team source said. “Squad depth is now critical, and this is the moment for others to step up.”

With qualification hanging in the balance, the Warriors’ attacking setup suggests there will be no caution — only belief — as Zimbabwe look to seize their moment on the continental stage.
