SCOTTLAND captain Walter Musona appears to be stalled by the misfortune of failing to win against his former teams.
Their 1-1 draw against FC Platinum at Rufaro on Monday was his latest setback.
Musona won his first championship with FC Platinum four seasons ago, the same campaign in which he also received his first Castle Lager Premiership Soccer Star of the Year award.
He joined Simba Bhora last season, where he powered the Shamva side to their maiden championship.
Simba Bhora lost 0-1 against FC Platinum in the first leg of the season at Mandava before suffering a similar loss in the reverse fixture at Wadzanai.
Many had this new season would brush aside such misfortune, but it appears to be stuck with him, as they stumbled to a draw two days ago.
It now remains to be seen if he is going to finally conquer this bad luck when they travel to Mandava in the reverse fixture.
The four-time champions came to the capital on the back of six draws in five of their six games.
On one hand, it was always going to be a huge ask for Scotland to inflict a first defeat on Norman Mapeza’s men.
On the other side, Tonderai Ndiraya’s troops had two draws, three wins, and a loss, which made them favourites to win.
But having stumbled to a similar result against Yadah last week at the same venue, many had lowered their expectations.
Ndiraya was not even disappointed with the result, as he insisted that a draw was a fair result against the heavyweights.
“But in the end, a draw was a very fair result for me, if you ask me,” he said.
“I’ll take the point. This is FC Platinum we’re playing against, a team that has been there for a while. At least we are still coming together. But I like the improvement that is in the team.
“The team is improving with each game. Hopefully, going forward, we can have more confidence. We can have better performances from the team as a whole,” said Ndiraya.
Scottland visit ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga this Saturday as they seek to return to winning ways.
Interestingly, the Kariba side are still unbeaten at their fortress this season.
