Musona and Gambian attacking midfielder Dawda Bah have become the latest casualties in the crackdown.

According to reports by a German newspaper, Augsburger Allgemeine, Musona and Bah were suspended for reporting late to training at the team’s current base in Turkey where the club is holding a winter break training camp.

“Coming to training late is not acceptable. In the first half of the season, the players were fined but now we want to try other measures,” Weinzierl told the German regional daily newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine.

The club earlier on also suspended their Moroccan goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif for two weeks after he failed to report early for a fitness test.

Meanwhile, former Warriors skipper Benjani Mwaruwari was spotted training with his former England team Portsmouth yesterday.

The Zimbabwean was photographed while going through his paces at Eastleigh. Although he was originally linked to Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and his former club Jomo Cosmos, Benjani has been training at SuperSport on and off since September, and was close to putting pen to paper on a number of occasions.

But Gavin Hunt told Kickoff at the end of October that despite being very impressed with Benjani at training, the club could not afford his salary.

However, the player said: “To be honest, I didn’t ask for much money from SuperSport, maybe I didn’t sign for a reason I don’t know.”
