FC Platinum offload 13 players

advised that he will not be part of the FC Platinum family this season and was advised to look for a club of his choice.

Dube played an integral part after joining the miners in 2011 by guiding them to a second-place finish on the league table and last year he made sure they collected a double when he saved penalties in the Uhuru clash against Motor Action.

He also did well in the Bob ‘88 Super Cup final. Norman Togara, who was honoured two weeks ago when he collected the President Special award, has also been advised to look for a team of his choice.

Cabby Kamhapa, Rowan Nenzou, Hardlife Muvundi,Clemment Matawu, Tsungai Mudzamiri, Zephaniah Ngodzo, Thandazani Ndlovu, Norman Maroto, William Manondo and former Dynamos son Benjamin Marere are all club-hunting.Coaches Philani Mabhena, Peter Nkomo and John Phiri’s contracts have also been not renewed by the platinum miners who are eying the league championship this season after missing it the last two years to champions Dynamos. Joseph Mususa comes in as the welfare manager for the flamboyant team, replacing the long-serving and hard working Chinedi Phiri.

It has, however, not been established if there is no conflict of interest in his new post and the one he used to hold as a top refereeing official.

FC Platinum are, however, still to confirm the changes as the executive remained mum about the developments. But The Herald can reveal that changes were made and those who were sidelined have not been coming for the training sessions.

Qadr Amin and Ali Sadiki were the only notable absentees, who are still to report for duty, as FC Platinum started their pre-season training on Tuesday.

The club seems to have put a lot of attention on junior players and Quelaton striker Mhleli Sibanda is training with the team.  Other players who seem to have an interest in joining the club are Ian Nikati (Twalumba), Dennis Dzingai (Gunners, Tatenda Dzumbunu (FC La Liga), and the Bantu Rovers twins – Kelvin and Alvin Moyo.

Tennant Chilumba was appointed the man-in-charge at FC Platinum on Thursday last week and is still to take an effective role because he is yet to get his work permit. He has, however, brought defenders Aaron Katebe, who appears to have been snatched from the jaws of Dynamos.

The defender is, however, still to train with the team as he has been just watching the action from the terraces.
