Musona was helped out of the pitch by team doctor Nicholas Munyonga and physiotherapist Farai Muguwe following a collision with defender Partson Jaure towards the end of the afternoon practice session.
But Munyonga allayed the fears that the 21-year old striker, who had to watch the final moments of the training session from the sidelines with a heavily bandaged foot, could miss the big game.
The German-based forward is expected to play a big role in the qualifiers and Munyonga assured the nation that there was no need to panic over the knock.
“It’s always difficult to assess an injury when it is still fresh but I have looked at it and it appears that it’s nothing very serious.
“We will continue to monitor it but he should be able to train tomorrow (today),” said Munyonga.
There have also been concerns over midfielders Khama Billiat and Ovidy Karuru, who suffered a shoulder injury during training this week, but the team doctor said the pair is fit for Sunday.
Billiat missed Monday’s training session nursing an ankle injury while Karuru sat out the next day complaining of pain in the shoulder.
But Munyonga said, apart from the scare caused by the German-based Musona’s knock, the Warriors dressing room was in good shape.
“We are quite happy with our health bill. Khama is up and running, and has been training with the team for the past two days, and we are happy with his condition.
“The best way to assess a player’s fitness is to see him when playing and Khama has been training without a problem.
“Karuru is also okay. In football you don’t have to worry more about the upper body compared to the lower body injuries. His shoulder is fine.
“It was more of a precautionary measure, just to give him rest to recover fully,” said Munyonga.
With most of the players fit for Sunday, the Warriors technical team are now winding up the preparations and yesterday coach Rahman Gumbo was working on combinations and tactics before selecting his final squad.
Gumbo has already finalised his final squad but revealed that he would announce the names tomorrow.
The dropped players will rejoin the squad after the game to prepare for the next assignment against Mozambique.
The coaches also tried Esrom Nyandoro at centreback where foreign-based players Arnold Chaka and Carrington Nyadombo are also fighting for places.
Gumbo seems to have few options in that position and early this week he brought in CAPS United defender David Sengu for assessment, although it seems unlikely the former Young Warriors skipper will seal a place in the final squad.
Motor Action’s Godfrey Moyo, Nyasha Mukumbi and Partson Jaure have also been training with the team.
Gumbo knows Guinea are not easy opponents and would need to assemble the best team possible on Sunday.
Indications are that he would need to entrust an experienced player like Nyandoro with an important role in central defence where the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder partnered Nyadombo in yesterday’s training. Nyandoro was not included in the initial squad and only joined the squad this week following a late call.
The technical team has many options in the midfield department and can afford to play Nyandoro in defence and still have experienced players like Tinashe Nengomasha to rely on.
Kaizer Chiefs’ Willard Katsande, Billiat, Karuru, Archford Gutu, Charles Sibanda, Denver Mukamba and newboy Bradley Pritchard are also among the midfielders.
England-based Onismor Bhasera and Vusa Nyoni who plays for Belgian side Germinal Beerschot are competing for the left back position while Oscar Machapa could be considered for the rightback or somewhere in midfield.
