JADEE Shara Devine (16) from Mutare, who has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia, a rare condition affecting the optic nerve, has released a new single called Don’t Forget.

Jadee is blessed with a wondrous voice and powerful songwriting technique.

Her song has been well received, with it sitting on the Diamond FM radio charts at number five for several months.

Jadee’s mother, Lissy, spoke during the Musicable Project panel discussion and said that programmes like this can help musicians with disabilities get exposure and change the narrative surrounding their talents.

“We are trying to change that narrative. Wherever we go and Jadee sings, people always suggest that she should be at America has Got Talent. Most people don’t know what she looks like, but they love her music,” she said.
