ALL is set for the highly anticipated Zanu PF 22nd National People’s Conference musical gala, scheduled for Mutare Showgrounds tomorrow (Saturday) night.
The grand event promises an electrifying atmosphere, with a powerful and diverse line-up of artistes drawn from across the country and the host province, Manicaland.
The musical extravaganza, which is expected to attract thousands of locals and visiting delegates attending the ongoing conference, is set to begin at 6pm, and will continue until the early hours of Sunday morning.
ZANU PF Manicaland provincial chairman, Tawanda Mukodza, confirmed that preparations are complete, and all systems are in place to host the mother of all galas.
“The stage is set. Everything is in place, and we are ready to host one of the biggest musical events the province has ever seen. We expect people to come in their numbers. This is a celebration of our culture, our unity, and our vision for the future,” said Mukodza.
Adding further details, one of the event organisers, Aleck Washaya, highlighted that the event is open to the public and free of charge.

He emphasised that it is, not just about entertainment, but also about promoting local talent and celebrating the Zimbabwean culture.
“This is, not just a concert, but it is a celebration of our identity. We have brought together more than 50 artistes and music groups, both nationally acclaimed and local gems, to perform on one stage.
“It will be a non-stop musical showcase running all night,” said Washaya.
Among the national headliners expected to set the stage ablaze are Sulumani Chimbetu, Jeys Marabini, Mathias Mhere, Diana Samkange, Sasha Madhuve, Peter Moyo, Irene Mtangadura, Chief Hwenje, and the ZPCS Band.
Judgement Yard, Pengaudzoke, Philemon Mlambo, and dancehall favourites are also on the bill, ensuring that a wide musical taste is catered for — from gospel, sungura, and Afro-jazz to Zimdancehall and traditional music.
Notably, the line-up also includes Dino Mudondo, who will be making a special appearance, Lamerk Mutero, Brezhnev Matezo, Luckmore Sambare, and Zhana Dance.
A strong contingent of Mutare-based and Manicaland artistes will take to the stage, including Ndaramo, Baba Matezo, Chikwature, and several others.
“In fact, more than 20 local artistes and traditional dance groups from Manicaland alone will be performing. We are also pushing the Muchongoyo traditional groups from Chipinge into the spotlight. It will be a hive of cultural expression.”
The musical gala will wrap-up the ZANU PF 22nd Annual People’s Conference which began on Monday.
The conference is being held under the theme: “Mechanise, Modernise and Grow the Economy Towards Vision 2030”.
This year’s theme underscores Zimbabwe’s ambitions to become an upper middle-income economy by 2030—a goal that calls for innovation, industrialisation, and grassroots participation.
The musical gala complements the political and developmental discussions of the conference by bringing in a cultural and social dimension, creating a relaxed, engaging, and festive atmosphere for attendees.

Last year’s edition of the conference, held in Bulawayo, saw a similarly vibrant musical showcase.
The likes of Selmor Mtukudzi, Sandra Ndebele, Peter Moyo, the Police Band, Silent Killer, Diana Samkange, Chase Skuza, Tammy Moyo, Mzoe7, and Mic Inity gave unforgettable performances.
The bar was set high—and this year, expectations are even higher.
This is also the third major entertainment event to be held at the venue this year. Earlier, Winky D headlined the SWAN launch, bringing his signature energy to a packed crowd.
Jah Prayzah followed with a commanding performance at the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance national finals.
More recently, the Manicaland Agricultural Show featured acts such as Nisha T, Oriyano, and Master H.
However, tonight’s musical gala will be on a scale never seen before in the province—marking the first time that over 50 artistes and groups will perform on one stage in one night.
That alone sets the stage for what promises to be a historic event for both the province and the national music scene.
Mutare is expected to come alive with music, dance, and celebration as thousands gather for a night of nonstop entertainment under the stars.
From cultural pride to sheer musical brilliance, the ZANU PF musical gala is set to deliver an unforgettable experience.
