Mutasa bemoans lapse in concentration

Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa has blamed some lapse in concentration following his teamas 2-1 loss to Highlanders, in an exciting league match on Sunday.

The Harare giants surrendered a 1-0 first half, lead to allow Highlanders to score late and claim the contest.

After Masimba Mambare had thrust Dynamos ahead on 28 minutes, it appeared as if Mutasaas side were on course to reclaim lost pride after losing the reverse tie 2-0 at home in May.

But Highlanders clawed their way back into this steamy confrontation with Tendai Ndlovu levelling in the 75th minute.

With 10 minutes remaining, veteran forward Ralph Matema headed in Peter Mduhwaas cross to ensure victory for Highlanders who held on to complete a season league double over their arch-rivals.

a?It is heart-breaking to lose to Highlanders. My boys lost concentration at the most crucial stage of the match,a? Mutasa said.

a?Conceding two goals in the dying moments could have been avoided had we kept concentration.

a?We had our hands on the game but the youngsters could not afford to hold on of which you will be punished at this stage of the game. We made some silly mistakes which we could have avoided.a?

With seven games remaining before the season ends, Dynamosa hopes of reclaiming the league title are over as they are 12 points behind leaders FC Platinum. a supersport.com .
