Bosso official injured in melee . . . Dynamos face $750 fine

DYNAMOS players and some members of the technical team allegedly muscled their way into the pitch using an unauthorised entry point before the epic battle against Highlanders last Sunday resulting in the injury of a home team executive member.

Wisdom Mabhena, a committee member in the Bosso executive, oversees the deployment of marshals around the stadium to beef up security when the Bulawayo giants play host at their theatre of dreams, Barbourfields Stadium.

Instead of using a designated entry point via their dressing rooms for access into the pitch to have a feel of the match venue before kick-off, the visiting Harare giants tried to use an entry point between the VIP stand and the Wings stand near the swimming pool end popularly known as Soweto.

The gate is reserved for the ambulance crew.

The result was a scuffle between the Dynamos players and Bosso marshals. In the end the DeMbare contingent ultimately used yet another undesignated entry point through the Wings stands close to the Mpilo End.

a?I was asked by the executive to make an official complaint to the Premier Soccer League for the blatant disregard of the rules and regulations governing the game by Dynamos in forcing their way into the pitch using unauthorised entry points.

a?It is such provocative actions by our esteemed opponents that result in Highlanders being fined for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

a?Our committee member Mabhena is nursing a dislocated shoulder in the aftermath of the pushing and shoving between our marshals and the Dynamos players and officials,a? said chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede.

If found guilty of contravening PSL standing order number seven that makes it an offence for failure by a team to enter the stadium or field of play through a designated entry point, DeMbare face a fine of $750.

The PSL uses a report by the match commissioner of the day as the basis for imposing the fine.

Highlanders beat Dynamos 2-1.
