Mutasa embraces new Moza challenge

Curtworth Masango

ZIMBABWEAN footballer, Wisdom Mutasa, says he is embracing the challenge at his new club, Costa Do Sol, in Mozambique’s top-flight league.

The forward is yet to make his debut as his papers are taking long to be finalised.

The Mocambola league is on break and set to resume on July 12.

Speaking to H-Metro he said:

“It feels good to change the type of league and also to experience a new country with a new culture and different language.

“You are exposed to a different set-up, the feeling is great.

“I have been here for a month-and-a-half. It’s nice here and I am enjoying a bit of it here in Maputo. “The people in the capital city enjoy and love football.

“The fans are excited to have me here and they can’t wait to see me in action and it’s already making me feel special.”

He added:

“I can say the league is also competitive unlike I used to think in the past.

“I used to have a view that it was not competitive but I can say I have witnessed something different.

“I can tell they are developing well, their professionalism is also a thing we should embrace at home, their players are well taken care of and are paid good wages.

“The football structures here are compact. They have all age-groups that are competitive from Under-17, Under-20, and the Under-23, which is the reserve team.

“Such structures no longer exist in Zimbabwe. l heard they sell their bulk of players to Portugal and Saudi Arabia.

“I just want to play good football, scoring as many goals as l can so that l can market myself.

“I was welcomed with both hands here by both my teammates and the technical staff.

“I can tell they already believe in me and now the ball is in my court to prove my worth.

“Even the supporters can’t wait to see me playing because the team is like Dynamos or CAPS United from Zimbabwe. It’s a big team.”
