LLOYD MUTASA is worried about the fitness of his senior players just two weeks before the start of the 2018 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

The DeMbare coach voiced the concern after watching his side fall to Zambian side Buildcon in an international friendly at the National Sports yesterday.

Dynamos, who featured a number of senior players who missed last weekend’s ZNA Cup win over Highlanders, fell to two second half goals from Brian Mwila (50) and Fayad Bayo (59).

Cameroonian import Christian Epoupa scored for DeMbare after 54 minutes.

New boys back Jimmy Tigere, Marvelous Mukumba and Raphael Manuvire started for Dynamos, who also had skipper Ocean Mushure, Obey Mwerahari and Quality Kangadzi back in the line-up.

“It was a good game, playing a good side and we needed this kind of a game before the season begins.

“However, in terms of combinations and fitness, we are still lagging behind, especially the senior players who have been absent,” said Mutasa.

The Dynamos coach is also worried by the way the youngsters who powered the club to the ZNA title after beating both Caps United and Bosso have turned into overnight heroes.

“The senior players have always been part of our plans and it’s a pity that you guys (media) would shower praises on the youngsters after only two games. The season has 34 games, we need depth,” he said.
