TWALUMBA coach Wilson Mutekede has a huge task to try and save his side from relegation with six games before the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league comes to an end.
They are deep in the relegation zone, third from the bottom of the log with 22 points in a league made up of 18 clubs.
And they have continued to lose matches in the past weeks, making life difficult for themselves.
On Wednesday they were defeated by ZRP Football Club.
“Eighteen points and, yes, mathematically it’s possible but it is up to us to collect maximum points, which has been quite difficult in the last couple of weeks,” said Mutekede.
“This has been due to our failure to convert and we make just one or two mistakes against the experienced teams we are playing and get punished.
“Technically the guys have done well, even our opponents are acknowledging we are doing well. But football is about winning, that’s how people see it.
“Technically the performance is quite encouraging considering these are players we are developing,” said Mutekede.
Mutekede said despite the rough patch, they were looking forward to tomorrow’s encounter against DC Academy at Gwanzura.
Meanwhile ZRP Football Club’’s forward, Kasimero Chimbadzwa appears to be heading for another Golden Boot award of the month award after scoring his fourth goal on Wednesday.
He has scored 16 goals.
