ZIMBABWEAN coach Jairos Tapera who recently parted ways with South Africaas National First Division side Black Leopards said there was a lot of muti and interference from the clubas owner hence the failure to get positive results.
Things came to a dead end when last week the club surrendered a 2-0 lead with 20 minutes to go against Stellenbosch FC.
Leopards went on to lose the game 3-2 after two goals in the final eight minutes.
Angry supporters could not stomach how their team failed to hold to the comfortable lead and vented their frustrations on Tapera and the clubas goalkeeper.
Fearing for his life, Tapera tendered his resignation on Monday. However, now jobless and reflecting on the situation, he opened up to B-Metro.
a?Coaches donat have space to work. You can even ask Sunday Chidzambwa (also a Leopards former coach),A David Thidiela is head coach, chairman, manager, prophet and inyanga for the team. So I decided to rest from that. He tells who to play because itas his team,a? said a seemingly dejected Tapera.
Tapera added that the club owner would directly tell the coach to change sangomas for each and every game. It is alleged at times he would stand in as the teamas prophet.
Impeccable sources told this publication that Tapera almost quit the club on 6 August after aA Charity Shield loss to Baroka.A Since he is now jobless, his manager Dingani Maduna said they are waiting for a?real contractsa? otherwise the coach would just take a rest.
a?Nothing concrete has come out with regards to offers. We are waiting for real offers,a? Maduna said.
