Mutinhiri expelled from Parly

no longer represent the party in Parliament.
Mrs Mutinhiri won the March 2008 parliamentary seat on a Zanu-PF ticket. She was fired recently for working against the party in her constituency.
Speaker of House of Assembly, Mr Lovemore Moyo is now expected to formally announce the expulsion in the House and notify the President that there is a vacant seat in her constituency.
Zanu-PF secretary for administration, Cde Didymus Mutasa said a letter has since been sent to Parliament.
“We wrote a letter to the Speaker as required by the country’s Constitution, notifying him of our decision on her.
“You can ask the Speaker if you have any other querries,” said Cde Mutasa.
Clerk of Parliament Mr Austin Zvoma confirmed receipt of the letter.
“Yes the letter has been delivered, it is with the Speaker,” said Mr Zvoma.
The expulsion of Mrs Mutinhiri from the party also inevitably means she will lose her Government post as Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Services.
Section 41 of the Constitution, does not provide Parliament with any discretion as it only requires that the secretary general of a political party writes a letter to the Speaker if a legislator is no longer representing the party’s interests.
