ZIMBABWE Handball Federation president Beauty Mutsambiwa is appealing for sponsorship for their junior team to travel to Togo for the continental junior tournament in December.
ZHF hosted the Zone Six regional tournament at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex, last week, which the Under-20 side won.
“I am appealing to well-wishers to assist us as we prepare for Togo. “We don’t have enough time to prepare.
“I am happy that we managed to host the games successfully.
“It was pleasing to have regional countries acknowledging the standards we have set for the region. “It’s very motivating and we hope to continue developing our game and infrastructure as a country,” she said.
She added:
“The only major challenge was the lack of corporate sponsorship to cushion us on other expenses.
“We have learnt that when events of this magnitude come around, we have to be highly organised.
“We have to set up portfolio committees in each section.
“I am happy the Under-20s managed to claim gold with a comprehensive win against Zambia, who were the defending champions.”
