A St Mary’s Nyau dancer, who was recently reported to be terrorising Zengeza 2 High School students, was arrested on Sunday.
The Nyau dancer, popularly known as “Magreen”, was apprehended with the help of his fellow dancers.
He was taken to St Mary’s Police Station in Chitungwiza.
“Magreen has been hiding since the publication of the bullying story at Zengeza 2 High School,” said one of the dancers.
“We have apprehended him and, as we speak, we are handing him over to police because he has tarnished the image of St Mary’s Nyau dancers.
“We do not support violence or any other forms of abuse by Nyau dancers.
“We discovered that he was the one behind the harassment of the students, and stealing from them.
“So, we hunted him down and surrendered him to the police for justice,” he said.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said the Nyau dancer was expected to appear in court today.
