adminVETERAN midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha has been given contract extension at his South African club BidVets Wits while fellow Zimbabwean Rodrick Mutuma is unsettled at Bloemfontein Celtic. According to reports from South Africa yesterday, Nengomasha’s contract was ending in June but the Clever Boys have moved swiftly to hold to the midfield general until June 2015.
Wits have also extended the contract of Thomas Sweswe by another year and the Zimbabwe internationals future are certain.
The club’s chief executive Jose Ferrira told Soccer Laduma that the duo will remain at the Clever Boys for longer.
“They have contract extensions and they will be at the team until June 2015. They are sill contracted to us as of now,” said Ferreira.
Both Nengomasha and Sweswe joined Wits after failing to renew their contracts at giants Kaizer Chiefs.
While it’s all rosy for Nengomasha and Sweswe, it appears gloomy for former Dynamos striker Mutuma who could be released by Celtic soon.
Celtic chief executive Khumbulani Konco could not shed light on the players heading for the exit but confirmed that there will be changes and speculation is rife that Mutuma is on the chopping board.
“Watch this space. Yes there will be changes but I can’’t say who is coming or going at thus moment but as I have said watch this space,” Konco. Sports Reporter/Soccer Laduma
