SOUTH African professional golfer Hennie Otto got off to a flier at the FBC Zimbabwe Open Golf Championships, which began at Royal Harare yesterday.
Otto, who has won 14 times on the Sunshine Tour, will go into today’s second round on top of the leader-board.
The 48-year-old South African who played in the afternoon managed to dislodge a four-way tie of Luis Carrera, Tyron Ryan, Doug McGuigan and Austin Bautista, who are on five-under-par.
The playing conditions seemed favourable at Royal Harare, with three players coming on position six at four-under.

On the local front seasoned professional golfer Ryan Cairns and Nyasha Muyambo go into today’s second round of the country’s premier golf event as the best-placed Zimbabweans after yesterday’s round at Royal Harare.
Muyambo and Cairns, who is playing at his home course, managed to card an impressive two-under-par 70 to trail overnight leaders by three shots.
Cairns started the first nine with four pars, as his only birdie came on the fifth hole, and completed it with pars.
The second round started with pars as well, and his other birdie came on hole number 13, as the rest were pars as Muyambo who played in the afternoon had two double bogeys in holes number 4 and 18, while he also birdied holes number 3, 5, 7, 10, 11, 13, and 17.
Coming in closely is Robson Chinhoi and Visitor Mapwanya, who are on 14-way tie at one-under-par 71, as Pride Sembo and Clive Nguru are on level par going into today’s decisive round.
