Mvuma DA in court

K45, Musingabvunzi Township in Mvuma were yesterday hauled before the courts in Gweru to answer to charges of criminal abuse of office.
The two, who were arrested on September 16, were not asked to plead and were remanded to tomorrow on US$500 bail each.
Prosecutor Ms Chipo Matshe said Mariga and Murambinda acted in common agreement to receive bribes in cash and in kind from prospective land seekers.
She said they would use an agent, Mr Trust Chesa, to collect the money on their behalf.
Ms Matshe said Mariga would sign resettlement forms after allocating land to the land seekers.
He signed the forms in his capacity as the Mvuma DA.
