Mwana Africa teach Cossy Rules harsh lesson

after dismissing lifeless Cossy Rules 3-0 at Rimuka over the weekend.
The Bindura-based outfit outclassed Cossy Rules and Fanuel Sihala put the visitors ahead as early as the third minute.
Lenon Mutize and Alpha Banda then scored to ensure Mwana stayed on course for a return to the Premiership.
Mwana coach Peter Sakonda said his team will try to keep their good run alive.
“We played very well and I think we could have scored more goals if the strikers were more accurate in front of goal.
“We want to keep on working hard and pick as many points as we can to maintain pace with other teams,” said Sakonda.
However, Sakonda said it was still too early to talk about the championship as there were other strong contenders for the league.
“It is everyone’s dream of lifting the championship but I think its still early days to start talking about the championship.”
Cossy Rules coach McPherson Kalanga blamed his team’s defeat on poor concentration at critical times.
“The team is not playing well, you could see the players were very slow going for the ball.
“There was no concentration at all from the players and we paid for that.
“We are facing a disaster at the moment and it’s worrying to keep dropping points as the league is gathering momentum. We will keep on working hard so that we can start picking up points.
“We are going to look for some experienced players when the window period opens to beef up our squad because the youngsters are finding the going tough,” said Kalanga.
Elsewhere, La Liga and Commando played a goalless draw at Hellenic in a match in which Commando finished with 10 men after defender Godwin Kashaya was sent off for rough play.
The match was marred by violence and La Liga goalkeeper’s trainer Tichaona Mushangazhike needed help from the police after being beaten by the opponents for allegedly throwing a missile to their goalkeeper Irvin Saidi.
The draw has pushed La Liga one place down the ladder to second position.
Highfield United bounce back to winning ways with a 2-0 win against Barca at Gwanzura.
Boban Bogeri scored for Highfield while Barca also conceded an own goal.
Harare City moved into fourth place on the log after dismissing Flame Lily 1-0 at Dzivarasekwa.
