FC Platinum 0-0 MWOS
PREMIERSHIP new boys MWOS, kept their unbeaten start to life in the big boys league when they held former champions FC Platinum to a goalless draw, at Mandava Stadium yesterday.
The result left FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza(pictured), a frustrated man.
The revered gaffer thought his side should have been awarded a penalty in the first half when Jarison Selemani fell in the box under challenge.
“I’m not sure about that opportunity in the first half.
“Now, we cannot keep on talking about these things. We don’t know what we are going to do to get those decisions. I don’t know what we are supposed to do. But we cannot have a situation where we have to talk about referees week in, week out,” lamented Mapeza.
The FC Platinum coach was left wondering why his side have not been awarded a penalty in almost three seasons.
Divine Mhindirira also fell inside the box, in the first half, but was booked for simulation. Many people thought that it was not a simulation.
“It was a clear penalty from where I was seated. It was a clear penalty, guys.
“Come on, we have now gone for 100 matches without getting a penalty.
“Three seasons, no penalty. Are we doing anything wrong?
“Maybe the boys will end up getting scared to get inside the box.”
However, credit should go to MWOS who have now gone for four games unbeaten in their debut Premier Soccer League season.
The Punters are now on eight points while Pure Platinum Play moved to six points.
Although the hosts dominated some phases of the game, MWOS proved their worth.
They are no pushovers.
“I would want to say thumbs up for the young lads. They’re giving a shift at training and it’s being reflected in the field of play,” MWOS coach, Lloyd Mutasa said.
“As long as these youngsters keep their feet on the ground, keep believing, they will do well.”
