MWOS FC are breathing life into the community of Norton, the hometown of former Warriors captain Knowledge Musona.
There was excitement in most parts of this town on Good Friday as MWOS FC welcomed Shamva Mine in a ZIFA Northern Region Division One League match at Ngoni.
The Division One newboys have already sunk a borehole, which is providing water for the stadium, and they are about to complete the refurbishment of the dressing rooms.
The dressing rooms include a medical room and separate but identical rooms for male and female match officials.
The club have also invested heavily in improving the playing surface.
There are plans to add another stand on the southern wing. The community also appear to have embraced the club as there was a good crowd for their match on Friday.
The two sides shared the spoils 1-1.
Ageless forward, Chris Samakwere put the hosts into the lead at the stroke of the break.
But, Benito Nyamaradzo’s 88th minute glancing header, denied the hosts their first set of full points.
The visitors were captained by Brighton Tuwaya, who led Simba Bhora into the Premiership last season.
“It our first game at home and I thought we had won it but the boys maybe were overexcited and lost concentration with just two minutes from full time,” said MWOS FC coach Wonder Ngoko.
“We are not in bad shape but I think we just have to work on a few things, especially our midfield and upfront, we need to be more ruthless, especially when we are playing at home.
“We are now shifting our focus to our next fixture.
“I think the boys are slowly getting where we want them to be and it’s just the mindset which needs to he worked on.”
Shamva coach Ralph Kawondera was pleased with the point.
Ngezi Platinum Stars developmental side continued with their flying-start after getting the better of Herentals Under-20 at Motor Action Sports Club on Saturday. Tinashe Mashaireni scored the only goal of the match.
