A ROMANTIC outing turned nasty for a 53-year- old man from Bulilima District when his 20-year wife caught him lips-locked with his girlfriend at a hideout.
Molly Kooreke of Figtree area bumped into her husband, Sam Ndebele at Redwood Business Centre while he was having a nice time with a woman identified as MaTshuma at the weekend.
She watched from a distance as the two kissed and hugged in public while at the business centre.
Enraged, Kooreke confronted Ndebele, slapped him on the face and ripped his shirt off leaving him half naked in the full glare of passersby, Plumtree magistrate Livard Philimon heard yesterday.
Kooreke was convicted on her own plea of guilt to assault and ordered to pay $20 or two months imprisonment.
The prosecutor, Paul Mpofu narrated how Kooreke assaulted her husband on January 18.
“On January 18 at around 5PM the complainant arrived at Redwood Business Centre in the company of a lady identified as MaTshuma. He parked his Toyota Hilux twin cab and proceeded to the bar in the company of his mistress.
“Kooreke, who could not stomach this, advanced to the vehicle and forcibly took away the ignition keys. The complainant followed her trying to get back the keys.
“A misunderstanding arose and Kooreke slapped the complainant twice and tore off his shirt,” said Mpofu.
In her defence Kooreke said: “The actions of my husband forced me to assault him. He was kissing and hugging the woman that he had in public while I watched.”
