FORMER football star, Edward Sadomba, says his life is in danger and is living in fear of his estranged wife Sherlynn while the lawyer representing her hit back and claimed he was BROKE.
The duo’s high-profile matrimonial fallout has now become a common feature at the courts and yesterday the saga spilled into the Chitungwiza Magistrates Court.
Sadomba claimed Sherlynn threatened to hire thugs who will deal with him.
However, Sherlynn, through her lawyer Oliver Marwa, said Sadomba was abusive.
The lawyer claimed Sadomba did not want Sherlynn at their Borrowdale house because he claims he built it on his own.
“You are after exposing your wife simply because she is a prosecutor and you are broke,” said Marwa.
Sadomba made sensational claims Sherlynn has been influencing investigating police officers and prosecutors to make sure he ends up in prison.
“I am living in fear because of Sherlynn,” said Sadomba.
“She told me that she is going to engage thugs to deal with me.
“Sherlynn told me that she is going to influence police officers, as well as public prosecutors, to make sure that I am behind bars.
“This is the reason I left Borrowdale Police Station to lodge my complaint against her at Highlands Police Station.
“She used her job as a public prosecutor to influence a number of police officers at Borrowdale.
“Your worship, her influence as a public prosecutor is the reason our case had to be transferred from Harare Magistrates Court to Chitungwiza.
“She vowed that she will always win cases since she is a public prosecutor.
“At one time I was followed by three unregistered vehicles.”
He said he never chased Sherlynn from their Borrowdale house but she abandoned the family for 30 days and then applied for a divorce.
“She filed divorce papers just to fix me.
“The house is mine and l just want to live in peace.
“Last time she teamed up with her sister to come and scold me, they created chaos for more than 45 minutes and l kept quiet. She also fired our gardener because she knew he was going to be my witness,” said Sadomba.
Sherlynn, through her lawyer Oliver Marwa, said Sadomba was abusive.
He said his decision to lodge a police report against her at Highlands Police Station was to avoid several cases against him recorded at Borrowdale Police Station.
“You have several cases of abuse recorded at Borrowdale Police Station, that is why you went to Highlands Police Station, leaving your policing area.
“When Sherlynn went missing, she had gone to a physiotherapist after you had beaten her up.
“When she decided to file divorce papers, it was all because she was tired of your abusive language.
“Sadomba does not want his wife at the house because he claims that she never contributed to the Borrowdale house.
“You are after exposing your wife simply because she is a prosecutor and you are broke,” said Marwa during cross examination.

The estranged couple will return to court next Friday.
