A SERIAL convict, who was born in prison and has served time seven times, for various offences, says he is losing the will to keep on living.
Kansile Kansile says he has been abandoned by his relatives and fallen on hard time he now feels his life was just meant to be a miserable one, which is not worth living for.
The 38-year-old was released in 2018 after he benefitted from the Presidential Amnesty.
His home is the NetOne building in Harare, where he sleeps, and he says he survives from scavenging for food in the city.
He was born at Chikurubi Female Prison.
His late mother, Nomsa Zuzeyi, was serving a life sentence for the murder of her husband and daughter, when she delivered him.
“I have hit hard times,” he told H-Metro.
“Being an ex-convict has made my life difficult, every time I try to make a clean living, my criminal record follows me.
“I am pleading with Government officials to help me find something to do even if it is about cleaning toilets. Cl am unemployed and for the past three months I have been sleeping at the NetOne building.”
Since childhood, Kansile has been in and out of jail.
In 2009, he was sentenced to serve 28-and-half years for stock theft.
“I got lucky in 2018 and was released from prison but I have not found any of my relatives,” he said.
