A MAN has dragged his step daughter to court accusing her of proposing love to him.
Fungai Chinougazve told the Harare Civil Court his step daughter has been bombarding him with love proposals.
“She told me that she is in love with me and wants to sleep with me.
“I am scared that I might be accused of rape, that’s why l am applying for a peace order.”
In response, Fadzai Chipere, told the court that her stepfather has attempted to rape her four times.
“He wanted to rape me from the time I was in Grade Seven and has attempted to rape me on four different occasions.
“He first attempted to rape me when I asked for some money for school stationery and he told me he would provide anything as long as I satisfy his sexual desires.
“I still remember one day he ripped off my blouse trying to get hold of my breasts.”
Magistrate Meenal Narotam dismissed Fungai’s application due to lack of evidence. She said this was another case which showed that those who are expected to provide guardianship can sometimes be the ones who inflict the most harm.
