A MAN from Budiriro claims his wife accuses him of sleeping with his own mother.
Brian Kunaka appeared before the Harare Civil Court yesterday asking for a protection order from his wife Abigail Kunaka
The court heard that Brian fled his home in Glaudina and sought refuge at his mother’s house after she was assaulted by his wife.
“I need protection from my wife because she is violent and she assaults me using clenched fists, I am of ill health and I should be stress-free.
“She came to my mother’s house and started shouting that I was sleeping with my mother, she assaulted me.
“I have a brain tumour, I was hurt and I had a headache for about a week.”
Abigail said:
“I do not agree with some of the things he’s saying, I never threatened him but I told him I wanted to kill myself because of his girlfriend.
“I asked him how he was living with his mother in a two-roomed house and why he walks in a room where his mother is with boxer pants?
“I never harassed him but his mother took him saying she wanted to go with him to a traditional healer because of the brain tumour.
‘’He started crying asking me what I had done to his girlfriend. That is when he assaulted me and I fought back.”
The magistrate granted Brian a protection order valid for five years and advised both parties to maintain peace.
