A SUSPECTED murder has rocked New Magwegwe, Bulawayo, after the body of an unidentified woman was found floating in a stream last Friday, sending shockwaves through the quiet suburb.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the discovery was made on 26 July 2025. The woman’s face was visibly bruised, and she had a swollen left eye, raising suspicion of foul play.
“The body was partially dressed in a white, red and black checked dress and was barefoot,” said the police in a statement.
Residents who stumbled upon the body say it was a gruesome sight that left many in tears and fear.
“She looked like she had been beaten. It’s heartbreaking,” said a shaken passerby.
Police have since launched a murder investigation and is appealing for public assistance to help identify the woman and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“Anyone with information is urged to report at any nearest police station,” said the police.
