Mystery surrounds death of Zimunya man (56)

A 56-YEAR-OLD man, Javis Zimunya, from Munyarari village under Chief Zimunya, has died under mysterious circumstances.
His mother, Filda Zimunya, reported the incident to the police.

Manicaland police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said Zimunya discovered her son’s lifeless body on April 28.

She had returned home around 4pm after collecting Presidential inputs, and found Javis lying on a mat, covered with blankets, unresponsive to her calls.

Assistant Inspector Chinyoka said: “Upon a closer look, Zimunya noticed that Javis was bleeding from the nose and mouth. She summoned for help from neighbours, and Edward Munyarari (45), rushed to the scene, and noticed that Javis was dead, with blood oozing from the mouth and nose.”

The incident was reported police officers at Muromo base, who attended the scene.

His body was taken to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for a post mortem.

Assistant Inspector Chinyoka said investigations still in progress to determine the cause of his death.

Javis had a history of mental health issues following drug and substance abuse.
