FC PLATINUM forward, Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, might have just bought himself a ticket to play in the South African Premiership following his exploits at the COSAFA Cup.
He has been named in the COSAFA Group Stage Best XI.
Ngwenya is the only Zimbabwean player who earned a spot in the Best Xi team.
Zimbabwe crashed out on the group stage despite racking up the same points (four) as South Africa who progressed due to superior goal difference.
He scored a brace against Mozambique when the Warriors floored the Mambas 3-1 on their last assignment of Group A.
Some clubs in Mzansi are said to be making inquiries about Ngwenya’s signature.
Ngwenya appears to have regained the form which saw him score 10 goals when FC Platinum won their fourth league title in the 2022 campaign.
The 22-year-old has netted five times in 14 games this season in the Castle Lager Premiership.
Ngwenya also revealed his target for this campaign.
“The idea is to help the team achieve its objectives and everything else comes after that.
“I have scored 10 goals before and I’m now five goals away from surpassing that tally. That is something I’m working on.
“I have been there before and I believe it is something that can happen again this season with the help of my teammates,” he said.
FC Platinum will host ZPC Kariba at Mandava tomorrow.
Ngwenya was also on target when FC Platinum edged TelOne 1-0 just before the international break.
