ABSA Premiership sides Polokwane City and Baroka FC reportedly made inquiries about the Highlanders duo of striker Gabriel Nyoni and Godfrey Makaruse during Bossoa��s pre-season camp recently in South Africa.
Bosso had a five-day pre-season camp in Polokwane, South Africa,A� where they played against Polokwane City and Baroka FC in training matches.
a�?I can confirm that Polokwane City and Baroka made some inquiries about Nyoni and Makaruse respectively.
However, there is nothing official yet. We will only start negotiations with them when they start communicating with us in writing,a�? said Highlanders acting chairman Modern Ngwenya who had travelled with the team to South Africa.
Speedy Nyoni scored Bossoa��s solitary goal when they went down 2-1 at the hands of Polokwane City in a match where Makaruse was reportedly on top of his game.
Polokwane City are home to Zimbabwean duo of imposing former Warriors goalminder George Chigova and ex-FC Platinum attacking midfielder Walter Musona. Ex-Bosso striker Cleopas a�?Ballotellia�? Dube is an ex- Baroka FC player.
In January, the Bulawayo football giants turned down a bid from Botswana top-flight outfit Extension Gunners for the services of Nyoni.
The Bosso speed merchant had spent some time with the Lobatse-based side, who went on to table an offer they thought otherwise on. Nyoni (25) recently signed a two-year contract with Highlanders. Sources said Extension Gunners had promised Nyoni, who has a marketing degree, an employment opportunity in the field of his study, as part of the incentives for him to join them. He joined Highlanders in 2013 after impressing then coach Kelvin Kaindu.
