Bulawayo award-winning musician Mzoe 7 is a lucky man as the rumour mill has it that he is dating fellow musician La Dee — B-Metro can reveal.
According to sources, the affair has been going on for over a year now. La Dee is a South Africa-based successful businesswoman with an interest in the beauty and massage industry. She is an accomplished musician in her own right and a radio broadcaster previously with Hillbrow FM in South Africa.
Despite being open to the media when it comes to publicising their musical developments, the rumoured couple could neither confirm nor deny their alleged affair. However, a source close to the couple said that the two musos were drunk in love.
“Mzoe 7 and La Dee have been dating since 2022. They might not be that cosy in public but they are so much in love. The chemistry has gone to the extent of doing music together. They have collaborated on several songs,” said the source.
Despite preferring to keep their relationship under the carpet, there are glimpse scenarios that cement the rumours. Last year, Mzoe 7 flooded his Facebook timeline with intimate pictures as he held tight to her, something that one can say was a promo photoshoot for the City of Kings’ latest Apparel.
As if that was not enough, again last year in November, Mzoe 7 attended the South Africa Music Awards (Samas) in Pretoria, where he was spotted with La Dee.
The rumoured couple also attended the merchandise exhibition of Mzansi late rapper AKA, which took place at Mall of Africa in Johannesburg from 26 to 28 January.
Mzoe and La Dee have done a couple of songs together but one which has propelled them to conquering the music scene is Amalanga Awafani which also features songstress Thandy Dhlana.
The song was produced by Too High and Hitkid. Ras Quisity of Keaitse Films was the cinematographer of the videos which partly features Mzoe 7’s biological mother.
Amalanga Awafani made it into four Playlists on Channel O. It got to be video of the week on SA_Music TV Channel. Last week, the song was number five on the South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC1) Top 20 charts.
