Award-winning Mzobanzi Mlauzi, known as Mzoe 7, one of Zimbabwe sensational musician has landed a leading role in a new film called Heritage.

After making it big in the music industry Mzoe 7 had to spread his wings and venture into acting.

“What I can say is that acting has always been my dream and I have always known that I can do it, but music just came naturally to me and I had to do it and its about balancing the two,”  said Mlauzi.

He said music and film go together and film will enhance his creativity.

“As you know music and film fall under art and it requires one to be creative and venturing into film will enhance my creativity and now I am starting to realise that I am good at acting.

“Some people and my family have been encouraging me to venture into acting and I am starting to find myself in this industry,” he said.

The producer of the film, Solomon Mandaza, also known as Daiza explained what the film is about.

“The film is called Heritage. It is basically about a young man who goes overseas to study and comes back with a girl whom he wants to marry but his parents do not accept her and he is given another woman belonging to his father’s business partner,” he said.

He said the shooting of the film will be done by 16 August.

“The shoot is taking place in Midlands and it will be done by 16 August and it is under Rocmedia Productions and our cast includes Clinton Ndlovu, Mzobanzi Mlauzi, Percy Shoko, Sikhangezile Mlotshwa, Nomagugu Tshuma and Ndumiso Ncube.”
