So far 10 countries have confirmed their participation and they are Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Seychelles and Zambia.
Zimbabwe will field 40 athletes in the championships and team coach, Phakamile Lisimati, said they were raring to go.
“We are currently done with all our preparations. We expect the team to check into camp on Thursday (today) in Harare. That’s when we will make some final touches on the team.
“We have a balanced team of 20 boys and 20 girls. We have some very good athletes in the team who have participated in a number of youth championships and other international competitions and we are banking on them,” said Lisimati.
