TOP officials from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (Nacz) are in Bulawayo today for their annual all-stakeholders meeting to be held at Mhlahlandlela Government Complex. The stakeholders from Bulawayo, Midlands, Matabeleland North and South provinces are expected to attend the meeting, which will be addressed by Nacz Director Elvas Mari and his deputy Nicholas Moyo.
According to an official from Nacz, Cathrine Mthombeni, the meeting will bring together registered arts organisations and arts promoters.
“The meeting is an opportunity for the arts sector stakeholder to share ideas,” she said.
Mthombeni said the Council is set to table issues of compliance in terms of registration for arts organisations and promoters. Issues of professionalism in the arts, governance in arts organisations and other issues affecting the development of arts and culture in Zimbabwe will also be discussed.
“It is hoped that at the end of the meeting stakeholders will be aware of what is expected of them when it comes to complying with the regulations,” she said.
Mthombeni said all registered arts organisations and promoters from the participating regions were expected to send representatives to the crucial meeting.
