A SELF-PROCLAIMED prophet who was on a mission to pray at his shrine in a bushy area stumbled on a naked body, which had no private parts and no right leg.
The incident happened last Sunday near Fox Farm, located 12km from Bulawayo along the Bulawayo-Plumtree Road. A source close to the incident said while a villager, Cladious Nzombe was looking for his missing cow, he met Gilbert Chibaya, a self–proclaimed prophet headed to their shrine.
The pair exchanged cellphone numbers before parting ways. After a few minutes Chibaya phoned Nzombe telling him about the strange discovery.
“While I was still searching for my missing cow I received a phone call from Chibaya informing me that he had stumbled on a naked dead body at their shrine. I rushed to the scene to have a look at what he was talking about. For sure, I saw a lifeless body with no private parts and a missing leg.
“The body was in an advanced state of decomposition. We reported the matter to the police,” said Nzombe.
The source close to investigations said there were suspicions that the person was murdered and dumped at the shrine.
“There were no clothes or identity particulars to identify the person. It seems the person was killed somewhere before he was dumped at the shrine,” said the source.
Bulawayo Police Spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.
“We are appealing to members of the public who are missing a relative to visit ZRP Donnington or call on (0292)2460975 or any other nearest police,” said Insp Ncube.
