Nakhozwe dies

Enphante, who was 35, died early Saturday morning when the vehicle he was travelling in veered off the road and hit a pillar at a house along Domboshava Road, just a few metres from his Helensvale home in Borrowdale.

He was the fourth child of Mr Grant Nakhozwe and the late former magistrate Mrs Cathrine Nakhozwe. Mr Grant Nakhozwe is the executive chairman of Moonlight and Mashfords Funeral parlours. Cde Shamu described Enphante’s death not only a loss to the Nakhozwe family, but to the nation. He said it was sad that Enphante died at a time the country was taking great strides towards total independence.

“He was one of the cadres within the country who were poised to play a greater role not only in reviving our economy, but also in defeating the enemies who through sanctions are trying to cripple Zimbabwe,” he said.

Cde Shamu said Enphante was a pillar in Moonlight and Mashfords Funeral Group that had seen phenomenal growth over a short period due to the prowess of their father.
“The lesson for the people of Zimbabwe that comes out of this loss is that a family business should always reflect management that respect corporate governance,” he said.
Mr Nakhozwe senior said last Friday they had a board meeting at one of their companies in the city, with other members including Enphante up to  1.30pm when they dispersed.

“Reports so far indicate that at around 4am, he went to drop off his uncle who lives near his home before driving off along Domboshava Road. Instead of turning right (to his house) he went straight before his vehicle hit a pillar and he died on the spot.”

A relative, businessman Dr Phillip Chiyangwa described Enphante as a bright, diligent and promising entrepreneur. Born on July 23, 1978 at Harare Central Hospital, Enphante did his primary education at Marlborough Primary School before attending Churchill High School for Form 1 to 6.
Between 2001 and 2004 he was at Rhodes University where he attained a degree in Law (Economics).

He came back to the country and joined their family business and was appointed a director responsible for operations.
Enphante is survived by wife, Tarisai and two children, Eden (6) and Cathrine (six months).
He will be buried tomorrow afternoon at the family’s Blakiston Farm in Beatrice.
