The National Merit Awards (NAMA) has released the People’s Choice Award finalists.
In a statement said:
“This press release serves to notify members of the press and relevant stakeholders of the finalists of the 21st NAMA People’s Choice Award. The finalists are (in no particular order):
“Mark Ngwazi
Theophilus Chigumira
Dorcas Moyo
Alick Macheso
Freeman
“Members of the public were invited to vote for their favourite artist from any genre and
background from the 10th to the 20th of February 2023.
“All practicing Zimbabwean artists were eligible for consideration including artists who were not nominated for a NAMA award.
Votes were cast via the National Arts Merit Awards Facebook and Instagram pages as well
as via Whatsapp and SMS. Following the amalgamation of votes, the top 5 finalists were
selected.
“From the 20th to the 25th of February, members of the public are now invited to vote for the winner of the prestigious NAMA People’s Choice Award via the following Click N’ Pay chatbot platform: +263 78 555 2326. The winning finalist will be announced at the NAMA Ceremony which will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre on the 25th of
February 2023.”
