Nama nominees expected tomorrow

THE much awaited list of nominees for the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) is set to be released at a press conference to be held in Harare tomorrow.
The list, which is announced 10 days prior to the awards ceremony, will see various artistes being awarded for their efforts in different genres.

National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) communications officer, Catherine Mthombeni confirmed that the adjudicators were ready with the  list of nominees.

“It’s confirmed the nominees will be released on Wednesday afternoon at a press conference to be held at the National Arts Council offices in Harare,” said Mthombeni.

The awards are set to be held at the Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel on the 15th of this month and Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Andrew Langa will be the guest of honour.

Selected local artistes will perform at the glamorous awards as per norm and the event will also be beamed live on national television, Ztv.
The 13th edition of the awards look at all   works created, published, exhibited, performed or recorded between 1 December 1, 2012 and November30 , 2013.

Below is the list of categories for which artistes will be awarded for during the ceremony.
