Youth Development, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Minister Patrick Zhuwao has proposed that Dadaya National Youth Service Training Centre be named after the late national hero, Cde George Rutanhire, to honour his dedication towards such centres.

Speaking at the 13th pass-out parade of 218 trainees from the youth centre on Sunday, Minister Zhuwao urged the graduates to be exemplary.

Of the 218 trainees, 76 were female. The institution’s commandant, Cde Taurai Sedias Mavhiki, said among the trainees, two were degree holders, while five had diplomas.

Scores held national certificates from various colleges.

The current crop of graduates was in camp for two weeks, which is different from three months for the previous intakes.
