THE National Multi-Faith Economic Dialogue (NAMFED) has released a comprehensive review of the second quarter of the year, with achievements including the stabilisation of the ZIG currency and an increase in foreign currency receipts.
The review underscores advancements across various sectors, including finance, agriculture, transport, and health, showcasing progress to economic development reflecting the Government’s commitment to fostering economic growth, aligning with the Vision 2030 agenda for an upper-middle-income society.
In an economic statement released on Friday, NAMFED said the organisation appreciates the commendable achievements made by President Mnangagwa for the Second Quarter (April to August) of the year.
“NAMFED applauds the praiseworthy efforts made by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency, Cde Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, for spearheading effective strategies that facilitated a tremendous economic growth in the Second Quarter of 2025.
“Some of the notable achievements are attested by the stability of the Zig currency and the growth in foreign currency receipts, respectively,” read the statement.
The statement noted that President Emmerson Mnangagwa awarded title deeds to 1,000 farmers in Mazowe, marking a major step toward land ownership and national stability.
“The handing over of title deeds to the citizens is a legal milestone that brings peace of mind and a sense of security to the people of Zimbabwe,” read the statement.
“In his speech at this occasion, the President reiterated that agriculture is the bedrock of Zimbabwe’s journey towards attaining an upper-middle-income society by 2030.”
NAMFED chief convener, Mr Obey Mapuranga, said the organisation has established its internal department of policy, research and liaison, which is formulating professional inter-religious programmes and projects that will complement the NDS-2 economic roadmap.
“The projects and programmes range from church leadership courses, market gardening training, registering and formalisation of the inter-religious informal sector,” said Mr Mapuranga.
“We plan to construct an inter-religious Museum, an interfaith school of excellence and operationalisation of the Multi Faith Micro Finance, which shall give business loans to religious business people at 0 percent interest until 2030
He added that NAMFED is setting up committees that will work together with various Government ministries in helping the inter-religious communities to aid in the economic roadmap.
“Plans are underway for the establishment to hold an Inaugural World Religious Business Conference in Victoria Falls to contribute to one of the approved priorities of NDS-2, which is image building, international relations and trade.
“The purpose of the WRBC conference is to showcase the investment opportunities in Zimbabwe to the wide audience of religious business delegates drawn across the globe.”
