Nash Paints employee in court over US$5k theft

H-Metro Reporter

A NASH Paints Holdings employee has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than US$5 000 from her employer.

Leona Maseva (24), who joined the company in 2021, was arrested and appeared at the Mbare Magistrates’ Court facing theft charges.

She was granted $50 000 bail and is expected back in court on April 19 for her trial.

Allegations are that Leona committed the theft between January 26 and February 18.

It is alleged that on the first occasion, some money was transferred into Leona’s personal InnBucks account and, on the next occasion, she was given hard cash in Harare’s Central Business District.

However, an alert NASH Paints security guard busted Leona, and her accomplices.

The amount she prejudiced her employer amounted to US$5 483.
