THE National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash) Bulawayo province has released dates for athletics competitions this term.
The head-in-charge of athletics in Nash Bulawayo, Peter Gambiza, who is also the Northlea High School headmaster, yesterday said all schools must have completed their inter-house competitions by the first week of February since this term is three weeks shorter.
“We will be having inter-house competitions this Thursday and Friday in most schools because we expect all schools to be done by the first week of next month, which is the cut-off date as we will be having a shorter school term,” said Gambiza.
“I urge all our athletes not just to compete to win, but to try and record the best times or break exisiting records.”
Gambiza said they had also set aside February 18-19 for the district finals in the five districts Mzilikazi, Reigate, Khami, Imbizo and Bulawayo Central.
The provincial finals are scheduled for March 3-4 at White City Stadium, with the national finals set for Mutare from March 17-18.
