Construction of the multi-million-dollar National Aids Council (NAC) Mashonaland West Province offices in Chinhoyi is now over 90 percent complete, with the contractor expected to finish the remaining works by mid-December.

The double-storey facility is among the province’s major ongoing infrastructure projects and is rapidly taking shape in the Chinhoyi central business district.

A delegation of senior Government officials—including Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Marian Chombo, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Mr Nick Mangwana and Mashonaland West Provincial Permanent Secretary Mr Josphat Jaji—toured the site on Thursday to assess progress.

The visit formed part of a two-day media tour organised by the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services to showcase high-impact developments across the province.

Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Dr Jenfan Muswere is expected to join the tour on Friday as the team proceeds to Mt Hampden in Zvimba District.

The NAC provincial offices, built on a 1 000m² stand, will feature 10 ground-floor shops available for lease, while NAC will occupy the entire first floor.

The project has created employment opportunities for local youths, who expressed appreciation for the Government’s commitment to empowering community-based companies and workers.

In addition to the Chinhoyi offices, NAC has also bought another 1 000m² stand in Turf under Mhondoro-Ngezi Rural District Council to build district offices.
