Cresta Hotel’s Lions Club, in conjunction with Harare Phoenix Club, today donated blood to the National Blood Services of Zimbabwe (NBSZ) in Harare.

The gesture comes at a time when NBSZ is facing shortages of blood due to the effects of Covid-19 which have resulted in a national lockdown.

Cresta Hotel’s Lions Club president Mrs Emily Mumba encouraged other clubs to follow suit by donating blood to save other people’s lives.

“Saving lives through donating blood is a fulfilling experience that is priceless,” she said. “Our blood bank in the country is depreciating daily, therefore, as organisations let’s unite and play our part in advocacy and donation of blood to save lives.”
